THE BELGIAN SHEPHERD TERVUEREN

We breed working Belgian Shepherds Tervueren (BBT).

Unlike the BBT "Beauty line", their size is thicker, the hairs are shorter, the muzzle is more square. Compared to his cousin the Malinois, he is much more docile and sociable, less unpredictable. In addition, it requires very little maintenance and is very rustic.

Docile, stable, sociable and dedicated, the Tervueren is also a powerful athlete. We chose this breed to breed

our " Family Shepherds ".

Due to its exceptional qualities, the Belgian Shepherd has become one of the favorite breeds of the military, police and firefighters.

Excellent research dog (avalanches, tracking, earthquakes ...)

Due to its great sensitivity, it is also used as a guide dog for the visually impaired or disabled.

Voted favorite dog of the French according to the SCC, the Belgian Shepherd Tervueren ("Tervu" or BBT for the close friends) has many qualities: it is loyal, protective, devoted, obedient, intelligent and playful.

Physically, it resembles its Malinois cousin with more build, medium length hairs which make it resistant to cold. He is also much more docile and sociable.

He has an unwavering love for his masters and will be all the more happy as soon as he can do you a favor. One of his greatest characteristics is his attachment to his adopted family. It would be better to acquire your Tervueren from a very young age, you will be able to witness its evolution and its progress, while creating an unshakable bond between you.

The Tervueren is naturally a good keeper.

Because his instinct forces him to protect those he loves, he will defend you in case of intrusion into your property, or assault, will warn you at the slightest suspicious noise.

But it will only act if necessary and will not throw itself on the fence at the slightest passage.

He will be the perfect guardian of your family since he has an innate sense of what to do and what not to do. His intelligence allows him to assess all situations and make the necessary decision.

He can accompany you everywhere, whether in a restaurant, a hotel, in the mountains, or any other activity, he adapts to all situations as long as he is with his family.

A little history ...
The Belgian Shepherd Tervueren owes its name to its village of origin, Tervuren, currently located in the province of Flemish Brabant in Belgium. It appeared in the 19th century, most likely following a cross between a fawn-colored sheepdog and a black Grœnendael. The Belgian Shepherd Tervueren was first used for the protection and care of herds, before showing off his skills in many other areas: security, research, exhibition, etc. The breed of the Belgian Shepherd Dog, including the Tervueren variety, was definitively recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale on January 1, 1956.
